A few weeks back, the A-level students had an exciting trip to Musandam Oman. It was a fine morning, the students reported to school at 2PM and the buses left for Oman at 3.30 pm. A few hours later, stops were made to get a few refreshments and to freshen themselves up. It was a 3 and a half hour trip, and they reached their destination at 7PM.
As they entered Oman, they reached the camp area after 20 mins. Lucky for them, they had tents put up so that they could just come and relax for a while after their exhausting trip before going ahead with more activities. A little before dinner time, everyone gathered by the camp area and had a blast, few of them sang and the others danced along and as dinner was served, a bonfire was lit up where evryone sat around it and dwelled in the warmth of the blazing fire.
The next morning, the students were asked to wake up a couple minutes before sunrise as one of the main attractions of Musandam was to watch the beautiful and mesmerising colours of nature awaken the day, but due to infavorable weather conditions, the students weren’t able to see it.
Till breakfast was served, the team went out to trek on mountains in the area and as the returned, decided to play volleyball for a while before leaving for any other activities. As soon as they were done with their meals, they left for a boat ride.
The boat had two compartments, the one above was slightly less spacious as compared to the the lower compartment. They were taken away from the shore and went ahead to take a ride on the banana boats. “it was an amazing experience” as quoted by Hashir from A levels, “the best part of it was flipping the boat!”
They visited a beach that was surrounded by enormous mountains on 3 sides while the water was on the fourth. The scenery was indecribable, there are no words to express how beautiful it was! The water was as clear as a blue sky on a summer day! But there were jellyfishes in that water, and it did sting some of them…
The sport of snorkling was offered to them, but majority of them prefered not doing it considering there were jellyfishes. Once they went back to the boat, they were given their boxes of lunch to keep themselves energized. The students then boarded a speed boat which took them to a cave. It was dark inside, while on the outer view of the cave there was a mountain which was in the shape of the face of a Gorilla.
Early evening and reached school at around 8PM. This was a trip really worth going for and the A-level students enjoyed to their hearts content. We hope to have more trips come up like this in the upoming academic years and make more memories with our peers and teachers.
